Cambridge Secondary 1
Cambridge Secondary 1 curriculum is designed similarly to Primary, focusing on English, Mathematics and Science, with the option to add English as a Foreign Language. There is a clear learning and teaching framework, encouraging learners to reach recognisable objectives and preparing them to transition to Cambridge Secondary 2 or to begin working towards qualifications such as GCSEs. As with Primary, multiple teaching resources are available, including online and face-to-face training. No part of the Cambridge Secondary 1 curriculum is compulsory and it can consequently be used as an educational accompaniment to other curricula or taught in its entirety. Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint follows a similar format to Primary 1 Checkpoint and the tests are taken at the end of Cambridge Secondary 1 (the first three years of secondary education). In the same way Primary 1 aims to ease the transition between primary and secondary education, Secondary 1 Checkpoint provides academic feedback before students move on to their first set of formal qualifications (the IGCSE for example).
