Collins International Webinar 25 Series – Next Up!
Pupils jumping into the world of chapter books after banded readers can be exciting and daunting. Themes may be too advanced for their age, containing complex vocabulary that could create a reluctance to read. So how can you continue to enhance reading skills and develop a lifelong love of reading?
Join Primary education expert Rachel Clarke as she guides you through principles of an effective reading pedagogy beyond banded readers, using Big Cat Read On as a framework. Explore how to integrate comprehension, oracy and fluency into lessons, adapt your approach for guided groups or the whole class and confidently differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
The session will also look at how to help pupils explore their reading identity through a range of genres and how you can weave reading activities into key curriculum topics to support academic progress.
