IB Business Management resources
In October 2022, Cambridge University Press will release an updated course book for IB Business Management. This book will be available in both print and digital formats. A digital teacher’s resource will also be released in October. If you have any questions about these resources, or would like to pre-order, please send us an email.
This digital coursebook is organised around the concepts and topics of the new Business Management syllabus. The case-studies and topics are set in accessible international contexts. The coursebook follows the IB Diploma ATL principles, developing higher-order thinking skills and conceptual understanding. The coursebook is focussed on a successful learner journey with clear learning objectives, integrated TOK links, reflection opportunities, self-evaluation checklists, projects, and exam-style questions and support. There are also scaffolded activities to help students develop into confident, independent learners with support, stretch and challenge activities.
Each chapter increases in complexity – encouraging learners to become independent, critical thinkers, and is followed by reflection activities. The coursebook contains a ‘Preparing for Assessment’ chapter with an explanation of assessment techniques, quantitative skills and examples of how to approach essays and case studies on the exam. There is also support for evaluative essay writing (how students demonstrate they have evaluated evidence) and quantitative skills. The resource is written in a clear, accessible style to support English as a second language learners. Concepts are explained clearly, with content presented in manageable segments. Key business terms are explained in context and there is a glossary of key terms and formulas.
Designed following consultation with teachers, this digital teacher’s resource helps teachers use the series in the most effective way, bridging the gap between teaching theory and practice. The resource helps teachers support their learners, plan great lessons and teach the syllabus. It provides teaching notes aligned to the IB Diploma ATL (conceptual understanding, differentiation, formative and summative assessment). The resource includes lesson plans, advice on using case studies, presentations, differentiation support and subject specific vocabulary support. It offers time saving assistance with editable exam practice sheets and worksheets, and answers to the activities and the exam-style questions in the coursebook.
