New non-fiction reading series from Oxford University Press
Hero Academy Non-fiction is an inspiring series of 21 fully-decodable titles with a distinct ‘real-life heroes’ theme to inspire discussion about personal qualities such as kindness and helpfulness.
Hero Academy Non-fiction titles are aligned to Letters and Sounds Sets, so that children’s reading practice can match their Letters and Sounds phonics knowledge, enabling them to build reading fluency.
The series is underpinned by Oxford Assessment and Oxford Levels, adhering to a reliable structure that carefully matches every child to the right book and supports their progress. Flexible teaching support includes guidance for one-to-one, independent, and guided reading.

The compelling, content-rich collection of non-fiction titles also encourages positive discussion around important wellbeing topics, and develops children’s empathy and understanding of different people in society.
